The kick-off meeting of the project “Consolidating The Expertise of Necmettin Erbakan University Towards The Development of Biofibers for Wound Healing and Tissue Regeneration” (REGENEU) with the theme of “Increasing excellence in the field of developing biomaterials for tissue engineering” within the scope of the Horizon Europe Twinning program, carried out under the coordination of our university, was held on Thursday, December 1, 2022. It was held in Konya Dedeman Hotel meeting room.
Necmettin Erbakan University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Doğan and Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Science, Department of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine and BİTAM faculty members and doctoral students, and faculty members from Selçuk University and Konya Technical University were attended the project meeting. Academicians and researchers from the project team, Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research (Fraunhofer-ISC) and University Hospital of Würzburg (UKW) from Germany, Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and Advanced Material and BioEngineering Research Center (AMBER) from Ireland were attended the meeting. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Doğan made a greeting speech to the academics and the project team participating from abroad, and then wished the team success.
At the meeting, introductory presentations of our University, Fraunhofer-ISC, UKW, AMBER, TCD and RCSI were made. The business plan of the project, which will last for three years, was discussed so that studies were carried out on the training programs and project activities that will take place in Turkey, Germany and Ireland. In addition, Educational and research activities that the project team will carry out in cooperation, new project application studies and plans to increase the international visibility and impact of Necmettin Erbakan University and its team were done. After the meeting, BITAM laboratory infrastructure and research opportunities were introduced to the project team from European institutes.
