is a Science Foundation Ireland funded interdisciplinary research centre established in 2013. The centre brings together a critical mass of Ireland’s leading material science researchers working across the disciplines of Bioengineering, Chemistry, Immunology, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physics to deliver an interdisciplinary, industry informed research program and collaborate with partner companies to translate this research into innovation and impact. AMBER operates as a national centre, headquartered at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and involving another a number of other Irish universities including the Tissue Engineering Research Group at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

develops medical devices and medicinal products based on novel biomaterials, novel human cell-based 3D tissue models and test systems, scalable automated production processes, and biological vascularized implants up to the prototype level. Besides accelerating cost efficient drug development, TLC-RT promotes the 3R principles. The main goal of TLC-RT is the fast application and implementation of current material research and tissue engineering for pre-clinical and clinical usage. By cooperating closely with partners in medical technology, biotechnology, academia and the pharmaceutical industry, TLC-RT conducts research on behalf of companies, diagnostic laboratories and research facilities. The TLC-RT offers its partners and clients an exceptionally broad variety of services.

has over 5,000 employees as permanent staff and consists of 19 clinics and three autonomous outpatient clinics as well as four clinical institutes. Furthermore, six vocational schools are incorporated in the University Hospital Wuerzburg. In addition, physicians, biologists, pharmacists and engineers are involved in both clinical care and academic research. The hospital provides passionate, state-of-the-art care for over 60,000 in-patients and over 200,000 outpatients per year.
